I would like to do a brief review on my current desk setup for programming during daytime job and personal advancement.

PRISM+ X300

An ultrawide monitor with 30" display and 200Hz refresh rate. It has a short response time of 1ms. 1800R of curvature to be honest isn’t too noticeable as a curved screen monitor, however I feel that curvature is just a good to have feature personally.

I would highly recommend for people who would like to have only a single monitor setup to get an ultrawide monitor which you can have multiple windows and documents in one view. This is useful in terms for productivity, learning and multi-tasking(well, I don’t recommend multi-tasking).

RAZER BLACKWIDOW ULTIMATE 2017

I never had any mechanical keyboard before this. My impression to mechanical keyboard was noisy, weird-feeling — and expensive as compared to usual keyboard. I decided to give it a try when I saw this Blackwidow 2017 version on sales for 50%. Well, I have to say it is definitely loud when you are typing fast especially when you just figured out on a bug solution (smile). You might want to ask about the opinion from your roommate (if you have one) because it might be annoying for them. However, I do recommend this for programming because you will be enjoying on the fluent typing experience with mechanical keyboard, or some casual gaming. If you are new to mechanical keyboard like me, I would suggest to get an entry level, or to say earlier version of mechanical keyboard (usually be put on sales) in order to ensure that it is something for you (and someone who lives with you).

DELUX ERGONOMICAL VERTICAL MOUSE

Delux Ergonomic Vertical Mouse

Another new item that surprised me is this ergonomic vertical mouse. It guides my hand and wrist to the correct posture (“handshake” posture), with an additional wrist pad to minimize the damage for long time usage of mouse. I did feel weird using that at first (you might struggle for the first day using this), however I feel really used to and comfortable after sometime. I have never thought of the normal mouse that we have been using all the time is slowly causing us wrist pain (especially for people who have to sit in front of computers all day long) because we need to slightly twist our wrist for that. There is a much premium version of vertical mouse from Logitech, I decided to go with Delux which offers worth-the-price product for whoever wants to give this a try.
