Having difficulties to start making move towards your goal? Define your FEAR.
We have all experienced this:
Procrastinate on taking the leap of faith that could change your life.
You might want to start to learn programming and make the career path change (I am going to share how I overcome the fear of this), but you are freaked out by some articles on how they couldn’t land a job after self-taught. Or, you might want to knock on that door and start promoting your product to potential customers, however, you are just so afraid of being rejected.
The reason for all these feelings is most humans are pessimists. We tend to think about the worst-case scenarios before taking any actions which could let to the desirable results. They are natural and it is completely fine to feel so. The issue here is we often stop at this stage and give up on the idea.
Let’s write down the following:
- Define the fear.
- What do you afraid of the most about taking the step action?
- Ex. 1. I might not be able to get a new programming job given that I have spent so much time learning all these.
- Ex. 2. People might be shouting at me because they do not want to be disturbed by my sales attempt.
